The math
Worked example
A $20 parlay on −110, +150, and −120 has combined decimal odds of 1.909 × 2.50 × 1.833 = 8.75 (+775). It pays $175 total, $155 of it profit. The implied probability of all three legs hitting is just 11.4%.

How are parlay odds calculated?
Convert each leg to decimal odds and multiply them together. Three legs at 1.909, 2.50, and 1.833 give combined decimal odds of 8.75, which is +775 in American odds.
Are parlays ever +EV?
Standard parlays compound the sportsbook’s margin on every leg, so they’re usually worse value than straight bets. They can become +EV when each leg is itself +EV against a sharp line, or when a large profit boost more than covers the extra margin.
What happens if a leg pushes?
At most US sportsbooks a pushed leg is removed and the parlay pays at the reduced odds of the remaining legs. Rules differ for same-game parlays, so check your book’s house rules.
